South Texas Republicans is dedicated to the simple premise that government best flourishes when its citizenry is informed and when its citizenry can freely and efficiently communicate with its elected officials.

To that end, South Texas Republicans utilizes Internet technologies to facilitate communication among its readers, one to another; and between its readers and their legislators.

The site will provide news feeds (updated daily), alerts on important advocacy issues, surveys, questionnaires, polls and interactive calendars - all designed to inform citizens and to facilitate communication between South Texas citizens and their elected officials.

Additionally, South Texas Republicans will sponsor relevant and timely meetings designed to foster citizen/legislator interaction and to provide an important opportunity for business-to-business networking.

Importantly, South Texas Republicans will be successful only to the extent that South Texas citizens choose to participate.  South Texas Republicans is not a club and it will not require annual dues nor conduct monthly meetings.  It will, however, conduct its business essentially via the web.  In order to benefit from the information and resources available on the site, South Texas citizens will simply have to opt-into the South Texas Republicans email list!

Net proceeds from any sponsored events or donations will be used to support the efforts of  South Texas Republicans - a Political Action Committee (PAC) devoted to the implementation of Internet-based technologies to:

  • develop increased citizen awareness and education on the important political issues of the day, albeit from a Republican point-of-view

  • increase citizen participation in the executive, judicial and legislative processes of local, state and federal government

  • increase voter registration

  • increase voter turn-out

From time-to-time South Texas Republicans will make in-kind contributions to the campaign efforts of Republican candidates.

So, opt-in now and participate in our experiment in virtual democracy!

Funding and Development Resources

South Texas Republicans is an officially-registered General Purpose Political Action Committee. It has voluntarily subscribed to the Texas Code of Fair Campaign Practices.

Our goal is to provide the features and services of the The South Texas Republicans web-pages free to all visitors, officially declared Republican candidates and Republican elected officials.

Projected operating expenses for The South Texas Republicans web site are several thousand dollars per year.  We plan to offset these expenses via revenue generated from voluntary donations and on-line banner ads, on-line store sales and net proceeds from quarterly meetings and associated sponsors.

If necessary, we will conduct an annual capital campaign fund-drive requesting voluntary contributions.
