Cynthia Leal Massey, a San Antonio, Texas native and professional
writer for many years, has been on the adjunct English faculty at San
Antonio College since 1991.
A published novelist, her fiction and nonfiction have also appeared
in national and regional magazines. A magna cum laude graduate of St.
Mary's University with bachelor's and master's degrees in
English-Communication Arts, she worked for ten years at Southwest
Research Institute as an editor and for three years at the San Antonio
Light as a correspondent before joining the part-time faculty at SAC.
She is married and has two children. Cynthia is a second-generation
American of Mexican descent. Her grandparents settled in the Rio
Grande Valley in the aftermath of the Mexican Revolution of 1910.
