NEWS! Grace Kunde Launches Fourth Court Of
Appeals Exploratory Committee In South
Texas |
Kunde, a long-time Republican, is
considering a bid for election to the vacant seat, upon the
anticipated announcement of Justice Sarah Duncans decision
not to seek re-election.
The Fourth Court of Appeals
has jurisdiction over civil and criminal appeals from the
trial courts in a 32 county region. Kunde would bring to the
Fourth Court of Appeals a conservative philosophy centered
upon the principles that the appellate courts should apply the
law without legislating from the bench. Her prior experience
as a Briefing Attorney for Shirley Butts of the Fourth Court
of Appeals gives her a unique insight into the Court. In this
capacity, she performed legal services for individuals,
landowners, locally owned banks, and small businesses
throughout South Central Texas before entering private
practice in 1992. A Democrat is already attempting a campaign
for the seat.
Kunde was born in Bexar County in
1964. She was raised on the family dairy farm. After
graduating from Texas Lutheran College in 1985 with a B.A. in
accounting, she received her Law Degree from St. Mary's
University School of Law in 1990.
Kunde devotes her time to church,
civic, and political activities. She is a member of Redeemer
United Church of Christ, where she has served as
Treasurer of the Christian Board of Education and assists in
music for worship and Sunday school. Kunde is a long-time
member of the Board of Directors for the Comal County
Childrens Shelter, where she has served as Treasurer and
President. She is a Rotarian; a member and past president of
the Guadalupe County Republican Women, and is a former
Guadalupe County Republican Party Precinct Chair.
Kunde is married to Wyatt
Kunde, a former Guadalupe County Commissioner and they have
two children, Wyatt Jr. and Scarlett. She enjoys
attending Wyatt, Jr.s basketball games and coaching his team.
She also delights in watching Scarlett grow and chase her big
brother around the house.
If you
would like to contact Grace G. Kunde to help in her campaign

Its a great time

now, elected
Republican officials hold over 2,000 offices across the

there is much progress to be made at the local level; just
because we are not in the midst of elections, the
activity must not
stop! We must continue to grow our local
parties to prepare for the 2006 elections so that we can see
continued Republican expansion. Our goal is to enlist, equip,
and engage!
That is why as
Chairman of The Republican Party of Texas, I am excited to invite you to join
me and your fellow Republicans at our Grassroots Training
School. Come learn insider tips on developing
a persuasive message for your local campaigns, fundraising,
and mobilizing your community to become involved. Discover how

begins with your community. Please come join

| Texas Toll Party- Just Like The Boston
Tea Party! |
|

Editor's Note: MPO
stands for Metropolitan Planning Organization and it's
Transportation Policy Board is the gatekeeper (or the check
and balance on TxDOT) who disperses Federal & State
highway funds to TxDOT. It's VERY IMPORTANT YOU ATTEND TO STOP
THIS TOLL PLAN!
ACTION
ALERT!
Without action from
taxpayers, the San Antonio-Bexar County MPO will build toll
roads. Lots of them! There's an MPO Meeting on Monday, July
25, 2005 at 1:30 pm in the Community Room at the VIA Metro
Center, 1021 San Pedro Avenue, San
Antonio.
We need you at this
meeting! This toll road plan will use your gasoline tax money
to build toll roads and then charge you to use them. In
other words, you will be taxed twice for these roads. No
elected official has any control over the rates charged. A
similar toll road plan in Austin calls for tolls of up to
$1.00 per mile. Toll revenues will be used to build more
toll roads. Bexar County Commissioner Lyle Larson has called
this open-ended taxation the largest tax increase in Texas
history. This is a new statewide mandate...you eventually
won't be able to avoid paying tolls on all our
freeways.
Here's what Chairman
of the Texas Transportation Commission Ric Williamson said,
"In your lifetime, most existing roads will have tolls." He's
our TxDOT District Engineer's boss.
TxDOT purposely
manipulated the solution to our traffic congestion on US 281.
It was all set to begin construction of the needed overpasses,
and they pulled the ALREADY FUNDED project in order to,
instead, turn it into a toll way and charge us every time we
drive on it FOREVER. A horrible fraud is being committed
against the taxpayers and we want accountability! When TxDOT
takes a $30.9 million project and turns it into a nearly $80
million project, something stinks! Then add to that the
unlimited cost of tolls. Taxpayers know when they smell a rat,
and this deal is going South and fast. It's past time to
restore responsive government to the PEOPLE! Power to the
People!
At this very MPO
Meeting, TxDOT will be asking for $13 million more dollars to
spend on studying more toll roads rather than actually
building needed roads!
TELL THE SAN
ANTONIO-BEXAR COUNTY MPO THAT YOU DONT WANT THIS PLAN!
Come to the meeting
Monday and tell them in person! We will be calling for an
independent review of TxDOT's toll plan. Go to http://www.TexasTollParty.com and express
your concern to the Governor and over 200 elected officials in
one click! |

The Council on
American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is a nonprofit 501(c)(4),
grassroots civil rights and advocacy group. CAIR is America's
largest Islamic civil liberties group, with regional offices
nationwide and in Canada. The national headquarters is located
on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C.
Since
its establishment in 1994, CAIR has worked to promote a
positive image of Islam and Muslims in America. Through media
relations, lobbying, education and advocacy, CAIR puts forth
an Islamic perspective to ensure the Muslim voice is
represented. In offering this perspective, CAIR seeks to
empower the American Muslim community and encourage their
participation in political and social activism.
NOTICE TO OUR READERS AND
SUPPORTERS:
Why are we featuring a speaker
from this Islamic organization? Reports from London describe
radical Islamic clerics who are motivating the
local population to rise against Christians and all
Westerners.
South Texas Republicans believe it
is preferable to have strong, friendly and cooperative
relations with our Islamic population in South Texas. That is
our position. (Sign up to

Campaign News!! Fiscal Conservative
Susan Combs Reduces Staff, Returns Taxpayers To State
Budget
AustinCarrying high the banner of
fiscal conservatism, Texas Comptroller candidate Susan Combs
today announced that the Agriculture Department is returning
$2 million to the states General Revenue Fund and is also
requesting a reduction of 20 employees for the next biennium
budget.
I
promised to do more with less and we have done just that,
Combs said. State government must be efficient, effective and
responsive. We have implemented 21st century technology and it
is helping to streamline government programs. The department has cut costs in its
Pesticides, Regulatory and Field divisions by building an
all-encompassing redesigned computer system. The integrated
information system has made it easier and more efficient for
people to do business with the agency. The department received
the Best of Texas 2003 Award from the Center for Digital
Government for the Best Applications Serving a Department or
Agencys Business Needs for the redesigned system.

The Texas Home School Coalition is
dedicated to serving the home-school community of Texas
and promoting a greater knowledge, understanding and
acceptance of home education in our state.
The Texas Home
School Coalition was established as a political action
committee (PAC) in 1986 by Kirk McCord of Hearth and Home
Ministries and the late Brad Chamberlain. Because of the
numerous law suits against home schoolers across the state and
harmful legislation being introduced in Austin, they saw a
need for a state-wide political organization to work for the
rights of home schoolers in the state of Texas. The founders,
believing government restriction could not be justified
academically or socially, formed the THSC PAC to oppose any
regulation of home education in Texas.
In 1995, THSC
incorporated as an educational non-profit organization because
most of THSC's work is dealing with disseminating information
to the public and to home educators. Its mission is to
serve and inform the home school community and promote home
education in Texas. THSC, maintaining that
participation in the political arena is vital to maintaining
their freedoms, continues to encourage home educators to be
active in the political process.
In
February of 1998, HOPE for Texas merged with the Texas Home
School Coalition. At this point, THSC also became responsible
for helping new home schoolers across the state as well as
maintaining a network of information and communication between
and among the leadership of regional home school
organizations, local support groups, and individual home
schooling families.
In 2000, the Texas
Home School Coalition Association incorporated as a 501 (c)(4)
advocacy organization for Texas home school families. Its
mission is to serve and protect home school families in
Texas. |
